What is a redox reaction?
Redox Reaction is the composition of two small reactions: the oxidation is an increase of the number of oxidation of a chemical species (molecule, atom or ion), generally due to a transfer of electrons by the species concerned. The chemical species loses electrons and is called "reducing". The second is called a reduction, and is basically a decrease in the number of oxidation of a chemical species, usually due to an acquisition of electrons by the species. The chemical species acquires electrons and is called the "oxidant". This reaction is the basis of the formation of ozone, which is created starting from Oxygen buying an ion from a molecule of oxygen split.
